Ayla’s story
While Ayla continues cancer treatment in São Paulo, her mother Ana is by her side. Their campaign seeks support for housing, transportation, food and care-related expenses.
In late 2024, Ana’s life changed when her daughter Ayla was diagnosed with retinoblastoma, a rare cancer of the eye. To access treatment, Ana left her hometown and moved to São Paulo, dedicating her time to caring for her daughter.
During that difficult period, Ana’s other daughter, Maria Clara, was diagnosed with an aggressive brain tumor. For months, Ana accompanied both daughters through appointments, hospital stays and treatment. Maria Clara later passed away.
As she grieves the loss of Maria Clara, Ana continues to care for Ayla. Ayla has had one eye removed and undergone several rounds of chemotherapy, and her treatment continues.
With Ana unable to work while caring for Ayla, the family faces the costs of housing, transportation, food and treatment-related care.
